Douglas Martinez, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist in New York and New Jersey. He has been in exclusive private practice since 2005, having previously worked as a social worker from 1974 to 1983, and as a psychologist and program director/ developer since 1983. Since 1983, he has designed and/or directed five progrms in two states that have been hospital or agency based. He has additionally been in private practice since 1996. As a clinical psychologist, he has specialized in the assessment and treatment of both adolescent or adult victims of child abuse, as well as abusers. He has also specialized in treatment of trauma, with certification in several methods of treatment.

November, 1995 to June, 2005 Program Administrator / Supervising Psychologist. Saint Clare’s Hospital, Child Abuse Treatment Program and Children’s Residential Services, 130 Powerville Rd., Boonton, NJ. (973) 299-5400. Responsible for all aspects of founding, developing and supervising this new (as of 1996) grant-funded program to provide services to sexually and/or physically abused children and adolescents, their families, and adolescent and adult sexual offenders. Responsible for the construction, development and supervision of the Sussex County Child Advocacy Center In 1997. Responsible for program design and development, staff recruiting, hiring and training, clinical program development and supervision, including graduate psychology students, and all relevant hospital administrative tasks, including fiscal management and accountability. Provided clinical supervisory services including psychological and forensic assessments for civil and criminal court and Child Protective Services (DYFS), and therapy for victims. From 1997 to 1999, duties included coordinating the development (construction / renovation advisement, hiring staff, and program design and implementation) of two therapeutic group homes for abused children. Responsible for administrative and clinical supervision of the outpatient program, two children’s therapeutic treatment homes, and clinical consultation to the Child Advocacy Center.

Responsible for psychological, psychosexual, and psychophysiologic assessments, treatment and research of adolescent and adult sexual offenders and victims of sexual abuse.
